At Farmgate Theatre we are inspired by all things that deepen our connection to the land and to each other, and we dedicate ourselves to projects that enhance these connections. It is our belief that for humans to survive and thrive, especially at this challenging time in our history, we need to fall so deeply in love with ourselves and our planet that we are empowered to make the change that we know is needed.
Our mission is to present live events outdoors at Finally Farm, inviting audiences into a shared experience of challenging ideas, exploring new directions, and delighting in our surroundings.
We value interactions that are inclusive and respectful of human diversity, bold in their exploration of truth and vibrant in their celebration of life.
As stewards of a farm which lies on unceded territory in Epekwitk/Prince Edward Island, we commit to finding ways to bring honour to our relationship with the land and with the Mi’kmaq people.
Karen Graves and Cameron MacDuffee, by chance and by choice, made PEI their home in 2015. In 2016 they bought 100 acres way up the top of the Appin Road, where the pavement ends and the fun starts, and named it Finally Farm. In 2019 they presented their first outdoor theatre show on the property entitled Behold. In 2021 they started Farmgate Theatre as their production company for all the arty things that happen on the farm.
